The Robertson family have been friends with the current United States President for several years, even before he rose to the role of POTUS. This is because one day, when the Robertsons were in New York City, Jase went into a hotel owned by the future president to ask to use the bathroom. Thinking that Jase was homeless, the doorman escorted him out and onto the street. When the current president and owner of the hotel heard about this, he called the family and personally apologized.
