William Shakespeare once told us that a rose by any other name would not smell as sweet. As it turns out, Dirty Dancing was almost given another title. Apparently, the producers thought ‘Dirty Dancing’ was a bit too scandalous, and wanted to call the film ‘I Was a Teenage Mambo Queen,’ instead.
We’re very happy they didn’t, because chances are the movie would not have done as well if they didn’t go with the title we know and love today. Good call, Shakespeare.
