The shot led Smithers to work in commercials and some other small roles. Her big break though was when she landed the role of the gorgeous but timid Bailey Quarters, in CBS hit WKRP in Cincinnati (1978).Today Smithers is 70, and after two marriages and divorces, she feels very comfortable on her own. She has one equally stunning daughter, from her husband number one James Brolin.
