Carla initially appeared as Malin’s on-screen mother during flashbacks in this superhero movie. However, the production team decided they wanted to keep the actress on for all the modern-day scenes, too.
Unfortunately, having just seven years between Carla and her on-screen daughter, Malin, meant the makeup team would have to work hard if they wanted to pull off the transition with ease. Thankfully, a host of facial prosthetics later and the movie found themselves a winner.
