A new Star Trek means Trekkies everywhere are lining up out the door to get tickets for the premiere. However, there was uncertainty about the characters back in 2009 thanks to a surprise announcement.
Winona Ryder might be just six years older than Zachary Quinto, but she still managed to land the part of his mother in this sci-fi classic. Thankfully, a whole load of makeup and effects later and they pulled off the look with ease.
