It seems that Vanity Fair might have been getting ahead of themselves in 1998 when they declared Gretchen Mol to be the next ‘It girl’ in Hollywood.
At the time, it looked like the actress was destined for success with films like the dramedy “Celebrity” set to bring in big bucks. However, these movies never lived up to the hype, and that hurt Mol badly. Although she’s managed to make a name for herself on TV, those early failures ruined all chances of her becoming a Hollywood starlet.
