The room has been left untouched, like the rest of Chernobyl and its surrounding towns, since 1986 when the nuclear catastrophe occured. After the accident, Chernobyl issued a 30 year no-go zone for the area to keep tourists and tresspassers from endangering their health. Today, you can enter Chernobyl but only the guidance of a tour master and when radiation levels are down.
