Jane Marie Genevie Wiedlin, is most famously known as the guitarist and backup singer of the Go-Go’s, however she also had a solo music career. She worked at a fashion design house and while there wrote song lyrics on clothing patterns. Together with Belinda Carsisle, she formed the Go-Go’s punk band in 1978, until her solo career in 1984, with ‘Rush Hour’ as her most popular hit.
In the 1990’s some of the members reformed to record God Bless the Go-Go’s, and in 2010 they planned their Happily Ever After Farewell Tour, however ended up changing it to Ladies Gone Wild and performing in 2011. Weidlin alone has released four solo albums.
