Patti LaBelle is both a singer and actress known as the ‘Godmother of Soul’, started out her career as part of the Ordettes in 1959, which in 1961 became the Bluebelles, with hits ‘If Only You Knew’, ‘On My Own’, ‘New Attitude’ and ‘Stir It Up.’’
The group split up over tension of musical direction in 1977. Following their separation, she started as a solo artist with a few albums, however truly achieved great success as a solo artist in 1983 with her album ‘I’m in Love Again’. In addition to her singing career, she has also written several books and appeared in various screen productions.
