Maybe you don’t want to have to throw away and replace your toothbrush, or maybe a friend borrowed it and you want to make sure it is clean. Either way, sticking your brush into the microwave to zap the germs away is a terrible idea.
Not only will the soft plastic bristles melt down into hard goo, but if they have any internal components those will be fried, as well. It is much safer and cleaner to just use hot water and a tiny dab of antibacterial soap.
