[post_page_title]Trekking across the country[/post_page_title]
As soon as Westerners landed in the United States, they set out to discover more. That meant parties like there were not uncommon as they surveyed the landscape. We see a mixture of surveyors and Native Americans, who were no doubt showing the other men some of the beauties of their country.
The men were following the Colorado River all the way through the Black Canyon in 1891. Photographer Timothy O’Sullivan took this picture, among many others in the Wild West, and actually is fourth from the left.
