Pirates of the Caribbean wouldn’t be the same without its wacky anti-hero, Captain Jack Sparrow. Johnny Depp’s portrayal of the character in the adventure film franchise is hilarious as it is outrageous, but it isn’t a mere figment of his imagination.
The actor admitted to basing the character on rock star Keith Richards’ mannerisms. Richards, in turn, went on to playing Jack Sparrow’s father in two of the franchise’s films – which couldn’t have been more fitting.
