Mythbuster first aired in 2003 with several pilot episodes that proved to be so popular The Discovery Channel commissioned a full series to be released that same year. It was presented by main hosts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman. Adam is a special effects designer as well as an industrial designer and Jamie is a special effects expert and has a degree in engineering from Villanova University.
Besides Adam and Jamie, there were three other regular presenters of the show, they were; builder Tory Belleci, artist Kari Byron, and robotics expert Grant Imahara. The show has run for 16 seasons so far, but Adam and Jamie stepped down from their roles in 2016.
The show aimed to set the record straight on many of the urban myths we have come to believe as a society. It sought to determine whether there was any truth in them or whether they were essentially just a case of either Hollywood not understanding science or are completely fabricated. Through the 16 seasons so far there have been many surprises along the way, some myths were totally busted, but several myths also turned out to be true.

They tested the theory that you could flip a school bus with the exhaust of a jet plane, and proved the jet was more than capable of flipping the big yellow vehicle. Finally, your handy DIY friend duct tape can pretty much do anything. The team was able to sail in a boat made entirely of the tape as well as making a working cannon with it.
