Yes, it’s safe to say that the royal wedding was the event of the year, and will go down in history as a moment to remember. After all, this was the day that a former American actress became a member of the British Royal Family. That doesn’t happen every day, you know. To celebrate the big day, some of the most famous people from around the world donned their finery and their jewels to honor the new couple… and some of the outfits were out of this world.
According to Nielsen Data, a whopping 29 million people tuned in across the world to watch the British royal, Harry, marry the former Suits actress, Meghan, and those numbers are big! While those numbers aren’t as large as many expected – especially considering the 2018 Super Bowl raked in an impressive 103.4 million viewers, fans of the Royal Family didn’t have to tune in live to watch Harry and Meghan tie the knot. Replays and highlights were shown on news stations across the globe, and some of the greatest moments were shared millions of times on social media. When something happens with the Royal Family, we all know about it! Because of this, many aspects of their iconic wedding have since gone down in history.
Meghan’s beautiful Givenchy dress caused the envy of women and brides-to-be in every single country in the world, the hilarious American pastor kept us all laughing, Princess Charlotte sneezing has since become one of the most shared videos on the internet, and snippets of Harry and Meghan driving away in an E-Class Jaguar after their vows has since been watched by millions. Thanks to social media we have been able to pretend as if we were in St. George’s Chapel and watching the whole thing unfold before our very eyes.
Although we didn’t get to see the nuptials in person, a guest list of around 600 people were able to don their finery and watch Harry and Meghan become the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Of course, much of this guest list was made up of members of the Royal Family and those of noble birth, but the wedding was also its very own Hollywood red carpet, thanks to the 60 or so celebrities that dawned on Windsor in honor of the lovebirds. In fact, some of these guests have since made this list of the best-dressed guests at the royal wedding…
