Hollywood is not a forgiving place if you’re carrying an extra few pounds. Celebrities are subject to body shaming on one hand and idolization on the other. A celebrity’s worth should never be determined by how much they weigh. Rosie has publicly battled with her weight for many years. Being on TV and in the public eye can’t make it easy. It’s hard to believe Chris Pratt’s physical transformation. He said he wanted to lead a healthier life, so he stopped drinking, dropped sugar altogether, and started working out six days a week. Way to go, John! He looks so much better than his Coyote Ugly days, as adorable as he was, we like the healthier version better.
Now Kate Hudson is nowhere near fat. But when she was pregnant with each of her sons, the actress managed to gain 70 pounds each time! Kate managed to drop every single pound, thanks to work outs and food planning, but wow. Her main fitness focus to this day is her Pilates routine. She often posts on social media what she does to keep her body in tip top condition, inspiring us all to try that much harder.
The Hangover star looks totally different after losing some serious, much needed, weight. He went from the blubbery best friend to the scruffy leading man with his new take on life. He said that he wanted to be healthier for his children and so he stopped drinking and started being more active in his daily life. We’re kind of seeing a pattern here regarding alcohol and weight fluctuation… Guess all of those celebrity fitness instructors had a point when they said to drop the glass.
Granted, Bale’s weight loss was for his role in The Machinist, but this is what losing too much weight looks like – gaunt. It was obviously on purpose but we’re happy to report that he’s back to a normal weight after the films release. Phew! It was hard for us to see the usually buff, former Batman, main man looking as thin as a substance abuse individual. Thank goodness it was all an act.
The Cosby Show and That’s So Raven leading lady looks absolutely radiant after her pretty dramatic weight loss. Raven usually doesn’t care what people think, being as outspoken as she is, we we’re hearing a lot of what was on her mind, but the scrutiny regarding her weight must have gotten to her if she actually did something about it. Either way we like Raven’s attitude about life and if she decided to change her ways, we are all about it.
To be fair, this weight loss transformation has more to do with giving birth to twins Moroccan and Monroe than anything else. Mariah took longer than is accepted in Hollywood to lose the baby weight so everyone got to talking. Eventually though, the diva lost the remaining weight and came back with a vengeance! The pressure on Hollywood’s women to get back to their pre-baby weight is very high and sometimes backfires on these women.
Beth Smith Chapman
Beth is the fifth wife of Dog the Bounty Hunter, who also stars alongside her famous husband on his reality show ‘Dog the Bounty Hunter’. Smith, who has been with her husband for years until the two finally tied the knot, is known for her , let’s say, plump silhouette. The reality star reduced her breast size to 42 inches which assisted in her overall slimmer figure.
Kevin Federline may have been formerly known as Mr. Britney Spears but after his divorce from the pop star in 2006, he quickly became known as “K-Fat.” The former backup dancer claims that the unwanted nickname made him want to drop the extra weight he had put on and he soon joined VH1’s Celebrity Fit Club to make that happen. K-Fed was able to transform his look and take his total weight from 240 lbs down to 190. Today, healthy and fit, Federline has more energy and stamina to be active with his 6 children.
The former hip-hop star was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, which prompted her to change her habits and lose some weight. What she didn’t bank on was her losing 75 lbs! She looks absolutely wonderful these days, and most importantly, healthy. She started out with an unhealthy eating and lifestyle situation, and once she decided to take matters into her own hands, she totally won!
This is an example of spot light pressure. The talented American Idol singer was not remotely overweight to begin with, but felt the need to lose some weight after she was thrust into the lime light. Luckily she didn’t drop too much weight and now looks strong and healthy to boot. Like we mentioned earlier with Mariah, the pressure on women in Hollywood to look a certain way can be healthy at times but in other moments can be downright dangerous.

Jimmy Kimmel may have been a little pleasantly plump back in the day but as of 2014, he’s seemed to make a lifestyle change for the better. He lost the bulk of his weight in the oddest way, though – actually, it’s quite dangerous. Kimmel doesn’t exercise (it’s not really his thing), so instead, he opts for calorie deprivation and occasional starving. He eats less than 500 calories two days out of the week and when he first began the weight loss journey, he was on a strict 2,000 calorie a day diet. The late night talk show host looks great but we wouldn’t advise readers at home to use his method of weight loss.
Ronnie is known for his stint on the reality show, The Jersey Shore. After the show wrapped, and the interest in him died down, he gained a bunch of weight. After a while though he realized he wanted to tone up, so he got back into his fitness regimen and lowered his fat percentage while upping his muscle tone. Ronnie had the knowledge of how to do what he wanted when it came to his body, so now he is also sharing on his social media accounts.
The Queen of the talk show circuit, Oprah has always had an issue with her weight. It fluctuated many a time during her talk show years; from very heavy to downright thin. These days Winfrey managed to lose a whopping 160 lbs and keep them off! She has a personal trainer and nutritionist to help her keep a balanced diet and fitness lifestyle. Our lovable chunky monkey, Seth Rogan! He is chunky no more though. The Knocked Up and Pineapple Express funnyman has lost some serious lbs, having him look more sophisticated than his usual beach bum style. He credits his weight loss to cutting down on alcohol, partying, and all around hedonistic behavior. He is now happily married, and it totally shows. He is, however,, an avid herb consumer, which he states has nothing to do with his weight fluctuation.

At first, Smith worried the public with his 14 lb weight loss in just two short weeks but now, he’s gotten his diet needs on track and exercises occasionally. The singer claims that when he wants to indulge on a vice he does it, but only if he wants the goodie super bad. What’s the hardest part of Sam Smith’s food regimen? No coffee or tea, unless it’s a part of a daily meal.
Adam is known for his role on the show star of Man vs. Food. Obviously the show played a major role in his weight gain, not to mention giving him some health problems along the way. He dropped out of the show in 2012 and has taken back control over his eating, assisting in his tremendous weight loss. Well it all makes a lot of sense, considering his job on the show was to eat as much as possible.
Kim’s body is almost always a topic of conversation. When she had each of her children however, she gained a lot of weight for her five foot frame. She always manages to drop it, with a strict diet and exercising plan, assisted by her personal trainer and chef. She most recently has lost a lot of weight with the birth of her son, Saint, proving to women everywhere that with the right help and determination, you can achieve anything.
50 Cent is a good looking, successful rapper. So when we saw his weight loss we we’re extremely concerned. We calmed down when we learned that he lost the weight for a move role (although we weren’t happy with how he looked); he played an athlete who was diagnosed with cancer in the film, All Things Fall Apart. 40 lbs later and he looked truly ill. He did gain the weight back, thankfully.
Music executive Kevin Liles, got a gastric bypass surgery in order to lose the weight he wanted. That’s one extreme method, if you ask us, but it certainly got the job done. These days he looks healthy, happy, and svelte. Gastric bypass surgery is the most extreme a person can go in order to lose weight, so when Kevin decided to go that route there were those in his life that were concerned. Luckily he went for it anyway.
Holy moly. Dr. Dre went from heavy to beefy and we didn’t even think to blink! The music producer and rapper had an incredible transformation, both in physical features as well as the way he is perceived. We wouldn’t mess with him, that’s for sure. He is one of those men in Hollywood who you don’t think of often, or see in the news, but he is always there in the background, creating things you didn’t know were his.
The Queen of Soul herself can do no wrong. But her weight got to a point where it was downright unhealthy and she was struggling with health issues. Aretha took control and lost an impressive 85 lbs to regain control over her weight, health and life. Aretha is 74 years old these days and the weight loss means that she is going to be around for far longer, which we are over the moon about!
At his heaviest, Entourage best friend and resident smoker, Jerry Ferrara, weighed a little more than 200 lbs; as you can see from the photo on the left. But just look at him after losing 50 lbs! Jerry looks amazing, almost unrecognizable. His weight loss landed him several other roles that he otherwise would not have gotten due to the need for a certain look. Jerry helped himself and his career at the same time.
The talk show host got the world talking about her weight loss. Granted she made sure everyone talked about it on her show, but she should be proud of her hard work paying off. Just look at that tiny waist! That’s what a 50 lbs weight loss will get you. Obviously losing weight isn’t going to help Wendy gain any tact while on her show, but we see that that wasn’t really the point anyway.
Perez Hilton made us do a double take. We couldn’t believe our eyes when we saw this before and after. Perez may not be loved by all in Hollywood, but he sure knows how to transform himself. The celebrity personality and blogger lost an astounding 70 lbs and really transformed himself. Perez is known for his website, where he discusses celebrities and does not hold back his opinion on their lifestyles and gossip.
Tom’s weight has always been on the heaver side. His drug and alcohol habit only made the scale tip in the unfavorable direction. So when Tom became a father, he decided to throw out the bad habits and bring on the good. Clearly he did something right, he looks incredible these days. The funny guy and Rosanne Barr’s ex-husband has gotten on the wagon big time, and looks to be staying that way.
Jill is an inspiration for post-baby hard work paying off. After she gave birth, Jill weighed in at 250 lbs. She then spent two years exercising and dieting, losing the baby weight and looking as fabulous as ever. What a lady! She is a perfect example of not losing weight fast but slow and steady. You know what they say, slow and steady win the race! She certainly did.
The Office star and award show host isn’t everyones cup of tea. He is however a really good example of someone who went from pudge to inspiration. Ricky lost an impressive 40 lbs, mostly from the midsection, and looks (and says he feels) amazing. They say that midsection fat is the worst for you, so we hope that with this weight loss, Ricky will also improve his overall well being and health.
Funk and soul go hand in hand with Chaka Khan. What also goes hand in hand with her? weight issues. Khan decided to take back her life, after a Diabetes diagnosis, and started eating better; so much so that she lost 60 lbs. Just look at this before and after shot! pulling off a black sequined mid length dress isn’t for everyone, but she’s nailing it! We’re rooting for this one for sure.
What? WOW! Graham Elliot lost 150 lbs and is literally a whole different person (well he did lose the weight equivalent of a whole human). It’s tough being a chef and lose weight, but the star managed to do it just right. He made his health a top priority and did what he had to do to get in the normal range again. He said that food was still his love, but for him he made a conscious decision to make it a healthy one.
Baldwin saw his weight climb in the last decade as his career spiked. But in 2013 he discovered he was pre-diabetic. Since then he’s taken steps to change for the better and lost over 60 pounds. Granted he’s had help from his yogi wife, Hilaria Thomas, who put him on a strict diet and got him moving again. He is looking great these days, yoga really does a man good.
Transgender Dancing with the Stars personality, Chaz has battled his weight since before he changed his gender. The son of Sonny and Cher made it his mission to use the dance contest as a way to lose some weight. Success! Chaz danced away a good 85 lbs! There’s a reason Zumba is such an internationally beloved trend nowadays! You can dance yourself fit as well, it’s all about the attitude and dedication.
Queen Latifah has been and always will be a curvy beauty. She lost a fair amount of weight while also getting a chest reduction, all of which make the Queen look more slender and beautiful (as if she needed help with that!). When in Hollywood curves are not usually promoted, Queen Latifah made it her signature move. Jennifer may not have won American Idol, but she most definitely won at life. She has since won an Academy Award, become a spokesperson for Weight Watchers, and lost an astounding 80 lbs. Making her look amazing and solidifying her mark on Hollywood. She is also a mom and wife these days, making her healthy way of life even more important to her and her family. It’s all in the family now!
It’s incredible to think that these two photos are of the same woman. The television star used to be downright obese. Ricki! Ricki! Ricki! The 90s talk show host has always been on the yo yo dieting bandwagon. In 2007 though, Ricki had enough and lost the weight for good. She looks refreshed, youthful, happy an rested. Love it! She has laid under the radar over the past few years, focusing on her family and less on a talk show comeback, although we would be absolutely delighted if she returned to prime time television!
The legendary Snooki from Jersey Shore. She was a big drinker and party girl until she got married and had a couple of children. Once she became a mom she decided to forego the party life and get healthy. She has lost 42 lbs and never looked better. We all remember those scenes from the show where she was too drunk to move, but we bet having none of that now only makes her feel better.
Chumlee from the Pawn Stars gang lost a crazy 75 lbs. He looks 10 years younger without the excess weight, not to mention healthier and quicker on his feet. Now he can pawn twice as fast! In all seriousness though, Chumlee decided to lose weight after a short stint in prison for theft. Perhaps hitting rock bottom had something to do with his weight epiphany?
Janet Jackson can be purple and the size of a hot air balloon and we’d still love her. She’s had her ups and downs on the scale, most recently losing the pounds again and looking slender and chic as ever. The 50-year-old has a body of a 30-year-old, honestly. Jason became a dad in 2013, as a result he decided to take his health seriously (and wife, Olivia Wilde wanted to also lose the baby weight), so they started working out together. America is one of the up and coming talents in Hollywood. Known for her role in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants films. You would think that being funny would be enough these days in Hollywood, however, even funny woman and comedian Amy Schumer was asked to lose weight before the filming of Trainwreck. Well, according to the actress, the process of losing weight was in fact a train wreck. She, like many other actresses, succumbed to Hollywood’s standards and did what was expected of her. These days Melissa is way more famous and as a result much more in demand. She has been in films like, Ghost Busters, The Boss, and on the show Mike & Molly. On the personal side of things, Melissa has recently dropped a serious amount of lbs in an effort to lead a healthier lifestyle (and look amazing while doing so!).
She won over everyone’s hearts when she played the sweet Dorothy Boyd in Jerry Maguire, and she made everyone laugh when she was cast for the role of Bridget Jones in the 15 year old franchise. The actress had to gain 20 pounds to make the role more believable and she pretty much went from a size 4 to a size 14. She went back to her figure in an incredible slim down.
The Hot in Cleveland actress who played alongside the legendary Betty White in the series, reached a mind blowing 172 pounds back in 2007. She soon decided to take things into her own hands and started working as Jenny Craig’s spokesperson where her goal was to lose 50 pounds. Ten years later and 50 pounds less, the actress is more fit than ever.
Another Jenny Craig alumni who is mostly known for her roles as Claude Casey on Less Than Perfect and for hosting the reality show Shedding for the Wedding definitely shed some pounds for herself. She has lost over 50 pounds after starting the weight loss program, which is like dropping 4 sizes. She is healthier and happier than ever, especially to wear a bikini whenever she wants to.
The Full House actress was apparently feeling unfit and unhealthy and she decided to go on a strict diet. At 41 years old, she has never felt better. She was quoted saying: ‘I feel the most fit and strong that i’ve ever felt in my life.’ Some of her diet agenda includes planning ahead what she will be eating, even when she’s traveling, drinking lots of protein shakes and working out nonstop.
Adele has always been and will always be a beautiful woman. With that said, it’s hard to ignore the recent weight loss transformation she’s undergone within the last few years. She has lost a total of 30 lbs thanks to a clean-diet and regular trips to the gym. The singer admits that she doesn’t enjoy the gym, although she does lift weights so long as she doesn’t have to look in the mirror. Also, a small side note, Adele cut tea and curry out of her diet to contribute to the weight loss. Now, Adele weighs in at about 187 lbs.
