Unless you’ve been living in a yurt in the middle of nowhere for the past few months, you’ll know that the weekend of 19 – 20 May 2018 was kind of a big deal. Yes, this was the weekend that the American actress, Meghan Markle, finally became a Princess – okay, well a Duchess! Since the announcement of their relationship, people across the world have followed Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s every move, waiting with bated breath to hear Kensington Palace announce their engagement. When this finally happened, it’s safe to say that royalists and Suits fans alike jumped up and down with joy, adorned their houses with Union Jack bunting, and bought the creepy-yet-incredible swimsuits with Harry and Meghan’s faces on it. As millions watched the couple exchange their vows in front of royal family members, A-list celebrities, and adorable flower girls, the world joined together to wish happy, hearty congratulations, and take to social media to spurt their views on the big day. One of the most popular comments was about another member of the extended royal family, however…Kitty Spencer.

Although we couldn’t wait to see Meghan and Harry tie the knot, it’s fair to say that we were pretty interested in other aspects of the Royal Wedding – and so was the rest of the world. Social media went wild, as we all watched live in the United Kingdom or streamed the ceremony in the middle of the night across the pond. There was Pippa Middleton’s dress which definitely did look like a can of iced tea. There was the adorable Princess Charlotte and Prince George in their flower girl and page boy outfits. There was the preacher with his dramatic and incredible speech you couldn’t help but get sucked into. There was the fact that David Beckham seems to defy all natural aging processes. There was the incredible lip-reading of “You look amazing” at the altar, and there was even the long-awaited dress that gave us all wedding dress envy. It was truly a day to remember.

Of course, no Royal Wedding would be complete without a few guests – and we have a feeling Meghan and Harry would have never considered running away to the Bahamas and getting married with just a priest for company. So, the pair invited just 600 of their nearest and dearest friends and family members, and it’s fair to say that it was the social event of the decade. The Queen won us all over with her lime-and-purple infusion, Prince Charles left a tear in our eyes as he walked Meghan Markle down the aisle, Doria Markle made us all feel empowered as she watched her daughter become a Princess, and the A-list celebrities walked their very own red carpet into the chapel.
