While they are usually very talented, it takes a lot of hard work and persistence to become a success, and even more so to gain your place in the spotlight and become a celebrity. Whether it’s acting, music, business, or even literature – if you want to make it big, you need to work hard and believe in yourself.
Many of the celebrities we know had a rough time getting to where they did. They went through struggles in life, they had to prove themselves, and they often had to work regular jobs just like the rest of us in order to pay their bills. They might have it easier now (although everyone has their own problems, famous or not), but back then they had regular lives with regular jobs.
Did you know that the legendary musician we know as Madonna had a job in New York at Dunkin’ Donuts? Or that award winning actor Hugh Jackman worked for 7-Eleven? And they’re not the only ones. Before stepping into the spotlight, Robert Redford used to work for an oil company, and Terrence Howard was a paper boy. And just like regular people often do, they also got fired from some of these jobs.
It’s always difficult to lose a job, especially when you’re fired for not being good enough at what you do. It can be depressing, and it can make us feel less motivated to pursue whatever career we want to pursue. But when these celebrities got fired, they kept their heads high and went on to proving everyone who’s ever doubted them, that they are good enough.
Some of the things these famous people got fired for are pretty funny, but it mostly goes to show that they weren’t meant to keep working in those lines of work, but had talented that could take them somewhere bigger. These jobs just weren’t meant to be for these celebrities, and it’s probably a good thing they got fired – or perhaps they wouldn’t have ended up where they did.
And we can only imagine how the people who fired them feel now, that they’ve taken the world by storm and became huge stars. Would you want to be the person who fired Oprah Winfrey? Or the one who gave Anna Wintour the boot? We know we certainly wouldn’t want to be in these people’s shoes.
