Despite the subject’s high relatability factor, dealing with one’s family can be tough, which is why it can be downright soothing to watch someone else’s dysfunctional-but-ultimately-loving family on TV for a change. These days, we’ve got sitcoms like Modern Family, Fresh Off the Boat, and The Goldbergs, but long before these modern day hits, there was one show that kept the entire world entertained – The Brady Bunch. This series was a massive hit from start to finish and left many viewers needing a tissue when it finally waved goodbye to its time on air. So many years have passed since we first saw The Brady Bunch on our screens, and we can’t help but wonder what happened to all those wonderful cast mates over the years.
The Brady Bunch first appeared on our screens back in 1969 and ran all the way through until March 1974. Over the five seasons, we got to see this blended family come together after Mike Brady and Carol Martin meet and fall in love. However, with Mike already having three sons from a previous relationship, while Carol having three daughters, it was interesting to watch if and how they would make their new family work?
As the show progressed, The Brady family learned how to overcome their differences and live as one big happy family. We got the chance to see the parents take on their new roles as well as the children tackling essential issues, such as crushes, self-image, and even learning how to become responsible adults. As is many times the case, though, after the show took a dip in ratings, it was canceled following its fifth season. Since then, you’re likely to catch one of its reruns somewhere across the U.S. on any given day.
The show might have been canceled, but that doesn’t mean it will ever be forgotten. In fact, The Brady Bunch has grown in popularity ever since filming wrapped up all those years ago. Who knew that it could touch so many people without providing them any new episodes? Though, come to think of it, with all the heartwarming moments, classic comedy bits and characters who managed to win over scores of fans, it’s easy to see how The Brady Bunch found its way into the canon of classic family sitcoms that have endured the test of time.
