Before you know it it’s time to make money. Life isn’t cheap and sooner or later you realize you’re not a child anymore. For millions of Americans who work at an office, you know how mundane a day in the life can be. You wake up, brush your teeth, attempt at a hairdo, and travel through bustling traffic to make your 9 a.m. clock-in, and repeatedly check the time until it’s the end of the day.
No film has captured the mundane life at work like cult hit Office Space. The film stars Ron Livingston and Jennifer Aniston as they deal with typical workplace behavior. “Looks like somebody has a case of the Mondays,” is just one hilarious line that sums up common workplace behavior.
Finally you get a job and although it may not have been your dream job or what you studied at school it’s good enough for now (or at least that’s what you tell yourself). You swallow your nerves and enter your new job, you’re greeted by your new boss that you size up and learn how to please, your some-nice and some-grouchy new coworkers say hi lazily, and you find your desk. It’s not what you expected but you vow to make the most of it. Suddenly the e-mails start rolling in and you try to figure out how you’re going to get through this new job. You find the coffee room and pour yourself a cup of coffee… and then another one… and another one. Finally you settle in and once your routine gets going, you’re ready to take the day by storm.
To liven things up in a straight-forward and dry office, you need to thrown in some levity and laugh once in awhile. Just because you’re an adult, doesn’t mean you can’t have a good time anymore. An imagination is an important thing to get through the most boring moments in life and at work.
Thankfully the internet is chock full of hilarious pranksters making the best of a less-than-average situation. Hey, when you work hard for that money working 9-to-5 you need to have a little big fun every now and then.
